 Carbon Footprint Calculator

                          3.98PLANETs

After I did the survey, we will need 4 planets to life if everyone lives like me. I thought I am helping our planet.

These are some tips the website suggest to me:

food:Cut down on meat and dairy produce.

travel:Reduce your car use for short journeys, especially those under two miles.

home: Turn lights off in unused rooms.

stuff:Avoid over-packaged products.

1.  How did you feel about your discussion experience?  What did you enjoy and what was difficult?             It was a new experience, and I enjoy talking to new students. They are friendly and help others to understand more. I hope if we have like this project during the semester. Sometimes we could not understand the point, so the host assists us kindly. In general I loved everything, like the articles, students, and sharing the ideas .The hardest part I faced today was the pronunciation because there are several of students from different countries.

2. Which letter from #5 on page 1 of the worksheet was hardest to decide in your group? Why do you think it was the hardest?       a: "most possible for me to do in the same situation" -> "least possible"        b: "most likely to be remembered in the future" --> "least likely"        c: "most affected/changed by their experience" --> "least affected"        d: "most courageous" --> "least courageous"             The hardest part to decide in my group was D "most courageous" --> "least courageous” because everyone see it from a different angle.

3. Was it easy or difficult to come to agreements with your groups?  What made it easy and what made it challenging?
It was easy to come to agreement because everyone presents his or her opinion then everybody tries to come with the reasons that they can persuade other students in a logical way. Moreover, insists on the opinion for personal reasons.

4.Were you happy with your group’s definition of courage?  What would you like to change, if anything?
I very satisfy of my group’s definition of courage because we aided each other to reach to the meaning.

1.    Do you think humans will need to move to another planet?  Why or why not?
No, there is no need to move to a new plant for several reasons.
1.    The earth is the only planet has gravity, so it will be hard to life in another planet.
2.    Other planets do not have all the resources that we have in the earth. For example, if we find a planet has air, but it is near to the sun. as a result,, it will be impossible to live there.

2. If it does happen that some humans move to another planet, would you volunteer to go?  Why or why not?
No, I don’t think I will go as a volunteer because I believe the earth is the best place to life. Moreover, I don’t want to put my life in danger

3.  Read this article about people who have signed up to move to Mars:
http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/09/tech/innovation/mars-one-applications/index.html  What is your reaction to this story?
I found this article so interesting! There is new information I gained from this article.  The first fact is there are enormous numbers of people who want to travel to another planet “More than 100,000 people are eager to make themselves at home on another planet”. Before I read the article I thought there are a few people who want to travel to another planet. The second fact is that travel in space will affect human body because of radiation. “Radiation is a big concern. NASA does not allow their astronauts to expose themselves to radiation levels that could increase their risk of developing cancer by more than 3%.” Moreover, some scientist fined solution for some issue that stands a barrier to achieve the colonization of Mars. For example it is possible to make hydrogen and oxygen from the water before the humans arrive. In my opinion, there are dangerous to humans. If there any kind of mistake, people will die because of the lack of oxygen.

4. What do you think Ray Bradbury wanted the readers of "All Summer in a Day" to understand?  What did you think after reading this story?
1-      The authors message for his story is if you believe in something and most people don’t agree with you, insisted on your opinion and your thinking like what mention on the story. The little girl, Margot, believe that the sun will rise even all the children surroundings her don’t believe her, but at the end the sun appeared.
2-      I found the story interesting which reminded me of a movie I saw it when I was a kid about similar idea. I liked the girl's insistence about waiting to see the sun again; however I don’t like the end because she could not see the sun when it brightened.
